Breast Recovery Lab

Gentle movement during and after breast cancer.
By a physiotherapist & breast cancer survivor
About me
I am a physiotherapist specializing in women’s health, with a focus on recovery after breast cancer and also during the oncology treatment.
My work is deeply shaped not only by my professional experience, but also by my own personal journey through breast cancer.
This combination allows me to bridge two worlds -
clinical knowledge and lived experience.

Let’s connect on social media
My story
My professional path led me to physiotherapy, where I worked with patients with neurological conditions and complex physical challenges.
This experience taught me how deeply the body and nervous system are connected - and how important it is to approach recovery with patience, respect and an understanding of the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
Over time, I naturally moved closer to working with women’s bodies - with all their complexity, sensitivity and unique needs.
Then, my path changed in a very personal way.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Suddenly, I was no longer only a physiotherapist - I became a patient.
I experienced firsthand what many women go through:
- the shock of diagnosis
- the uncertainty around treatment
- the physical changes in the body
- and the feeling of losing trust in your own body
During my treatment and recovery, I realized something that profoundly shaped my work:
Women are often left alone when it comes to understanding their bodies after breast cancer.
They receive medical care - but very little guidance on how to:
- move safely
- reconnect with their body
- deal with tension, fear or discomfort
- and gradually return to normal life
This is where my two worlds came together.
As a physiotherapist, I understood the body.
As a patient, I understood the experience.
And I saw the gap between them.
Today, my work is built on bridging that gap.
I help women reconnect with their bodies during and after breast cancer through gentle, safe and functional movement.
Not through pressure or performance -
but through awareness, respect and gradual rebuilding of trust.
Because recovery is not only about restoring physical function.
It is also about:
- feeling safe in your body again
- understanding what your body needs
- and finding your way back to yourself
My projects
Pink Congress (Růžový kongres)
An educational platform bringing together experts and personal experiences to support women going through breast cancer.
Movement & Body Care After Breast Surgery (online program)
A structured program helping women safely restore movement, reduce tension and rebuild trust in their bodies after surgery.
Surgery in Calm (Operace v klidu)
A program focused on preparation for surgery - both physically and mentally - helping women approach the procedure with more ease and confidence.
Vision
I believe that women should not be left alone to navigate their bodies after breast cancer.
Recovery can be guided, safe and respectful.
And it can begin much earlier than most people think.
